Exciting news! This week, we're introducing a new project not with a traditional coffee farm, but with the Coffea diversa “coffee garden”. We’re featuring a unique coffee varietal - wush wush, which is known for its complex and nuanced flavor profile. When combined with the honey process, it promises to deliver an intriguing and uncommon coffee experience. This makes it a perfect fit for the Discovery lineup on our website, where we source and offer green coffee selections that are new, interesting, and unexpected.
The main Coffea diversa garden is located in the Biolley district near the Panama border, with additional collaborative gardens in Costa Rica’s Central Valley and Tres Rios, as well as in Jamaica and Guatemala. Unlike traditional coffee farms that concentrate on a single varietal, Coffea diversa gardens cultivate approximately 850 different coffee varietals. Although growing numerous varietals reduces the overall coffee yield, it enables the gardens to offer a more diverse range of unique taste profiles that would otherwise be unattainable. This emphasis on cultivating a variety of coffee plants for their unique taste qualities is why Coffea diversa prefers to be known as a garden rather than as a farm.
When we first learned of the Coffea diversa concept, we were impressed by their quality-driven farming practices and reached out to learn more. Among the various coffees we sampled, the honey process wush wush particularly stood out to everyone on our team. This wush wush is truly unique, with flavors of grapefruit, cardamom, and IPA and carrying a strong spice note. We are excited to share that we have more coffees from Coffea diversa on the way, each promising an intriguing and enjoyable tasting experience. The wush wush has been selling exceptionally well, and we are considering extending our partnership to bring you even more of these unique offerings.
We hope you will join us on this journey of discovery and savor the unique flavors that the Coffea diversa garden has to offer.
