Farm and Producer

Rodrigo Sánchez and Claudia Samboni have operated Las Veraneras since 2022 as part of their Aromas del Sur project. The farm lies in Huila's Peñas Blancas mountain range, between Acevedo and Pitalito.

Coffee grows at approximately 1,500–1,750 meters near forest reserve land and the Santa Barbara stream. The farm brings together multiple varieties, including this Ethiopian Landrace selection.

Variety

Ethiopian Landrace is the name used for this Ethiopian-derived Arabica planting material grown in Colombia. It reached Rodrigo Sánchez through a seed exchange. The label does not identify one standardized variety or establish a precise genetic pedigree; this selection is cultivated and processed separately at Las Veraneras.

Processing

In washed processing, the fruit pulp and remaining mucilage are removed before the coffee is dried. This approach often emphasizes a defined structure and separation of flavors, while fermentation and drying choices still influence the result.
