Elida Estate, Lot Vuelta

The Lamastus family has grown coffee at Elida Estate in Alto Quiel, Boquete, since 1918. Its highland setting includes volcanic soils and native cloud forest near Volcán Barú. This natural Gesha selection comes from the Vuelta area of the estate.

Variety

Gesha, also spelled Geisha, is an Arabica variety with Ethiopian origins. Panamanian Gesha is valued for its high cup-quality potential at altitude and often shows delicate floral and stone-fruit aromatics. Cultivation, harvest, processing, and roasting all shape how those characteristics appear in the final cup.

Processing

This coffee dries in the whole cherry using Dark Room Drying, or DRD. Fans and dehumidifiers manage air movement and moisture removal inside an enclosed room. After drying, the coffee rests before the dried fruit is removed during milling.
