Farm / Producer / Washing Station

Kii Coffee Factory is one of three washing stations operated by Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society in Kirinyaga County, near the foothills of Mount Kenya. Smallholder members deliver cherry from their individual farms to Kii, where the coffee is processed collectively as a washing-station lot.

Variety

This lot combines four varieties commonly grown in Kenya. SL-28 and SL-34 are long-established Kenyan selections recognized for their quality potential at elevation, while Ruiru 11 and Batian were developed to improve productivity and resistance to coffee berry disease and coffee leaf rust. Because cherries are combined at the washing station, the varieties are presented as a mixed lot rather than as individually separated components.
