Farm and Producer

Jardines del Edén in Pijao, Quindío, is part of Felipe Arcila's work with distinctive varieties and separate processing preparations. SL28 was planted there in 2019, bringing a Kenyan selection into the farm's Colombian growing conditions. This lot is its Natural EF2 preparation.

Variety

SL28 was selected in Kenya in the 1930s and has since spread to other coffee-growing countries. It combines drought tolerance with high cup-quality potential; growing conditions and post-harvest work shape the expression of each lot.

Processing

EF2 identifies an extended-fermentation natural preparation. Selected cherries undergo fermentation before drying with the fruit intact on raised beds under managed conditions. Once drying is complete, the dried fruit is removed to prepare the green coffee.
