Farm and Producer

Chavez Estate is a family coffee project in Comunidad Nueva Florida, Hatumpampa, Inkawasi. Ricardo and Virginia Chavez oversee the farm with their children, who share cultivation, harvesting, post-harvest work and quality control. Jhenrri focuses on quality and agricultural development, drawing on experience with the Inkawasi Cooperative.

The family manages connected plots and cultivates the selection locally known as Geisha Inka or SL9. This offering is their washed Lot #3.

Variety

The farm identifies this selection as SL9, also known locally as Geisha Inka. It has been propagated from established plants in Inkawasi. The name identifies the farm’s planting material; it does not establish that it is the same selection as Panamanian Gesha.

Processing

In washed processing, the fruit pulp and remaining mucilage are removed before the coffee is dried. This approach often emphasizes a defined structure and separation of flavors, while fermentation and drying choices still influence the result.
